Notes:

  1. I have used the Kashmiri Chilli Powder to give a colour to the rice. If you are adding Red Chilli Powder, remember to add appropriate amount or else it will become too spicy.
  2. To make the Tomato Onion Rice mild spicy add Green Chilli, Black Pepper and Red Chill in right amount since all three add spiciness to the food.
  3. To give a different variation, you can add some veggies such as Peas, French Beans, Carrot, Cauliflower, etc.
  4. To prepare a fluffy Tomato Onion Rice, we must cook the raw rice in open container and then wash it with cold water after boiling it. It keeps the rice grains separated from each other.
  5. To give a different flavor you can also add other spices such as Cinnamon Stick, Fenugreek Seeds, Cardamom, Bay Leaves and Ginger.
  6. If you have added salt while boiling rice, remember to add less salt while cooking the spices.
