Idli Fry is a light, healthy and flavourful food which uses less spices and oil. Also it is quick to prepare which hardly takes 10 minutes. To prepare Idli Fry, you can use either fresh idlis or a day old refrigerated idlis. However, I would suggest using leftover Idlis or a day old Idlis which are refrigerated. If you use fresh Idlis, there are chances that it may break easily while frying. Refrigerated Idlis tends to hold their shape. Notes:

  1. To prepare Idli Fry, use leftover Idlis or refrigerated Idlis rather than using fresh Idlis. Fresh Idlis may break while frying them while refrigerated Idlis hold their shape. Also refrigerated Idlis consume less oil. Fry the Idlis till it is little crispy.
  2. To add extra flavour to the fried Idlis, you can also add some vegetables to it such as capsicum, carrots, French beans, etc.
