Bread Curd Roll or Dahi Bread Roll is a very delicious and crispy breakfast and snack recipe. You can also serve it in supper or as a starter in a party. It is also known as Bread Curd Fire Roll. To prepare the roll, stuff the hung curd stuffing in the bread slice sheets and then deep fry it in oil till golden brown. Bread Curd Roll tastes good when you serve it with Tomato Ketchup or Green Chutney. The speciality and uniqueness of this Roll is the addition of curd to the stuffing. This is what it makes this recipe unique from other roll recipes.

This roll recipe is similar to other roll recipes. There are slight variations in all these different roll recipes. Today we will be preparing Bread Curd Roll only. To prepare this roll, we need to prepare the hung curd stuffing first. To make the stuffing, simply mix the ingredients such as Curd, Grated Paneer, Vegetables along with few spices very well. Roll the bread slice into thin sheets and then stuff it with the curd stuffing. Deep fry the rolls till light golden brown. Bread Curd Roll is ready to serve with your favourite Chutney Recipe.

There are various other roll recipes. You can make these roll recipes by making slight variations. To make Veg Roll, different veggies are roasted in oil and are then rolled in between the roti made from Wheat flour or Atta Flour. This recipe can also be made by replacing the bread slices with thin maida sheets or Atta sheets.

While making this recipe we must keep in mind that the bread slice should not break while rolling. It can make the stuffing come out of the roll while frying. This is the most important thing that we must be careful of while preparing Dahi Bread Roll. To avoid this situation use fresh bread as stale bread may break easily while rolling. Also the curd that we have to use should be hung curd. To make hung curd, simply keep the curd in cloth and wrap it to take out the water from the curd. Hang it for 15 minutes from the ceiling so that all the water drains out.

Bread Curd Roll/ Dahi Bread Roll/ Bread Curd Fire Roll

Bread Curd Roll is prepared by deep frying curd stuffed Bread Rolls. The stuffing is made by mixing Curd, Paneer, various vegetables and spices. It is then rolled in bread sheets to make Bread Curd Roll.

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices White Bread
  • 100 grams Grated Paneer
  • 1 cup Hung Curd (Yoghurt)
  • 1/2 cup Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 cup Finely Chopped Capsicum
  • 1/2 cup Finely Chopped Carrot
  • 3 tablespoon Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Maida
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • Salt to Taste
  • Oil for Deep Frying

Instructions:

  • To prepare the stuffing take a large bowl and add Curd into it. Add Paneer into it by grating it.
  • Then add Grated Paneer, Chopped Onion, Chopped Capsicum, Chopped Carrot, Coriander Leaves, Black Pepper Powder and Salt. Mix all the ingredients properly. Keep it aside.
  • Take 1 tablespoon Maida and 1 tablespoon Water in a bowl. Mix it to make maida liquid paste. There should not be any lumps in it. It is used for sticking the bread slice.
  • Take the Bread Slices and cut the edges from all sides.
  • Take a Bread Slice and sprinkle some water over it. With the help of Rolling pin, roll the slice to make thin sheet.
  • Roll the bread slice from both sides. If required you can sprinkle some more water and then again roll it. In the same manner roll all the slices.
  • Take a sheet of bread. Place small amount of stuffing on one side of the slice. The edges must be left empty.
  • Apply some maida paste at the edges. Pick the side of the bread where the stuffing is kept and roll it.
  • Stick the edges of the slice by pressing with our fingers so that the stuffing is completely packed. Prepare the roll for remaining bread slices.
  • Heat Oil in a Kadai over medium heat. Place the stuffed roll into the oil and deep fry it till it becomes light golden brown.
  • Take it out and place it over tissue paper so that it absorbs excess oil. Prepare all the rolls.
  • Bread Curd Roll is ready. Serve Bread Curd Roll instantly with Tomato Ketchup or Green Chutney.

Notes:

  1. While making the rolls, the stuffing must be sealed properly so that it does not spill out while frying.
  2. You can use vegetables as per your choice. You can also use Corns, Cabbage, Tomato, Mushroom, French Beans, etc.
  3. To make Hung Curd, take a cloth and wash it. Place the curd in it and strain the water from it. Hang it for 15 minutes so that all the water comes out.
  4. The edges of the bread can be used to make Bread Crumbs.
