Stuffed Garlic Bread or Stuffed Cheese Garlic Bread is a Soft, Buttery and Cheesy Bread Recipe loaded with Garlic flavour. It is similar to Dominos Stuffed Garlic Bread. The flavour and taste is similar to it. Once you become perfect in preparing this recipe at home, you will never opt for having this dish in any restaurant or eat out point.

My fondness in cooking started when I was working in Delhi. I lived there all alone and didn’t have my parents by my side who could cook for me. I started preparing a number of food items at home rather then preferring it in restaurants. Living in Delhi, I never tried preparing this Stuffed Garlic Bread as it seemed little tougher to prepare and was easily available in restaurants. I often choosed pizza restaurant for Stuffed Garlic Bread.

But once I visited my village and stayed there for few months. There I didn’t had the option of restaurant for having Garlic Bread. It was really very bad for me where I didn’t had the option of having Garlic Bread. It was then that I decided to give this recipe a try at home. At first attempt only, it came out perfect. It boosted my confidence and after that I started preparing it frequently. Even I have stopped going to restaurant for this particular recipe. Below are few tips and tricks that you must follow to prepare this tasty recipe:

  1. Use Luke warm Water or Milk so as to activate the Yeast. Do not use hot water or else the Yeast will die. If you use cold water, the Yeast will not activate.
  2. Add Sugar to Yeast to activate it. Sugar acts as a catalyst which helps in starting the fermentation of yeast. Due to fermentation, froths or bubbles start coming out which indicates that the yeast is activated.
  3. While preparing the dough we must take care that the dough is little sticky. It helps in preparing softer Garlic Bread. If in any case it is little dry, add little amount of water to it.
  4. Allow the dough to rest for about 2 hours in warm place after you knead it. It will help in fermentation.
  5. Add adequate amount of Cheese while stuffing to prepare Cheesy Stuffed Garlic Bread. You can use Mozzarella Cheese alone or a mix of Mozzarella Cheese and Cheddar Cheese. Also, use adequate amount of Oregano, Chilli Flakes and Mixed Herbs to add extra flavour to the Bread.
  6. Preheat the baking setup or microwave oven for about 15-20 minutes before baking the Stuffed Garlic Bread.

There are various version of preparing Garlic Bread such as Garlic Breadsticks, Cheese Garlic Bread and Stuffed Garlic Bread. I have already shared Garlic Breadsticks and Cheese Garlic Bread recipes in my earlier posts. In Garlic Breadsticks we skip the use of Cheese while in other two recipes we use a generous amount of cheese as a filling. Today we will be preparing Stuffed Garlic Bread where we will be using veggies such as Sweet Corns and Capsicum for stuffing apart from Cheese. Stuffed Garlic Bread is served as a starter or appetizer.

Lets start preparing Stuffed Garlic Bread with different types of veggies as fillings. First let us activate the Yeast. Take Warm Water or Warm Milk and add 1 teaspoon Sugar into it. Stir it to dissolve all the Sugar. Next add Yeast and stir it properly. Cover the Yeast for about 10-15 minutes so that it gets activated. In 10-15 minutes froths or bubbles are formed which indicates that the yeast has been activated.

Take a large bowl and add All Purpose Flour. To it add Oregano, Chilli Flakes, Mixed Herbs, Garlic Powder and Salt. Mix all the ingredients uniformly. Pour the activated yeast to the mixture and knead the flour to prepare the dough. If required you can add extra amount of water. Knead the dough for about 10-12 minutes. The dough should be slightly sticky. It helps in getting soft Garlic Bread after baking. While kneading, when the dough starts coming together add slight amount of Oil into it. It will prevent the dough from sticking further. Roll the dough into a ball and then cover it for about 2 hours.

Till the time dough is fermenting, let’s prepare Garlic Butter. Take Butter in a small bowl. To it add Garlic Paste and Chopped Coriander Leaves. Mix it properly. Keep it aside. You can also use Finely Chopped Garlic in place of Garlic Paste. Now remove the cover from the Maida Dough. The dough becomes almost double in its size. Knead the dough again for few minutes and then roll it into a ball. Sprinkle some Maida on a flat surface or over rolling board. Place the dough over it and with the help of rolling pin, roll the ball into a thick roti.

Now take the Garlic Butter and apply adequate amount of it over the rolled dough leaving the edges. The edges should be left so that it becomes easy to seal the stuffing. Sprinkle Oregano, Chilli Flakes and Mixed Herbs over the bread. Next spread enough amount of Mozzarella Cheese over half portion of the bread leaving the edges. You can also use the mix of Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese. Add Chopped Capsicum and Sweet Corns over the cheese. Again sprinkle some Oregano, Chilli Flakes and Mixed Herbs. Fold the bread by placing the half portion of the bread over the stuffing. Seal the edges by applying water.

Take the pizza tray and place butter paper over it. Softly pick up the stuffed bread and place over the butter paper. Apply some Garlic Butter over the bread and sprinkle some herbs over it. Take a knife and slightly make vertical cut marks over the bread. Now we will bake the Garlic Bread in a homemade baking setup or pre heated microwave oven. Here I will be using homemade baking setup. You can opt for microwave oven.

To make homemade baking setup, take heavy base kadai and add Regular Salt into it. Place the baking stand over the salt. Cover the kadai and heat it over medium flame for about 15-20 minutes. Once the kadai heats up, open the lid and place the pizza tray over the stand. Cover it again and bake the bread for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes switch off the flame and take out the Stuffed Garlic Bread from the kadai. Stuffed Garlic Bread is ready to serve. Apply some butter over it. Slice the bread and serve it hot with Tomato Ketchup or Mayonnaise.
