Grilled Paneer Sandwich or simply Paneer Sandwich is a quick and easy to make Sandwich Recipe most ideal for morning breakfast and also for kid’s tiffin box or lunch box. It can also be served as an evening snack with Tea or Coffee. To prepare Grilled Paneer Sandwich, we require Crumbled Paneer, Chopped Onion and Chopped Tomato along with various Spice Powders.

It is a simple, tasty and healthy recipe which we can prepare in just few minutes. Here I will be using Homemade Paneer to make the sandwich. You can use store bought paneer also. But I would suggest you to use homemade paneer as it is healthy and pure.

There are two ways of preparing the Paneer Sandwich. The difference is in the preparation of sandwich stuffing. In the first method, we prepare the stuffing by mixing Crumbled Paneer, Chopped Onion and Chopped Tomato with various spices. In the second method, we prepare the stuffing using various vegetables along with Paneer and Spice Powders. We can use vegetables such as Carrot, Capsicum, Beetroot, Sweet Corn, Cucumber, Coriander Leaves, etc. You can use all of them or any few of them as per your choice.

Here we will be preparing this sandwich by the first process. In this process, if you want you can skip Onion and Tomato to make the stuffing. It totally depends upon your taste. Grilled Paneer Sandwich/Paneer Sandwich

Apart from this, we can prepare the stuffing in two ways. One is by simply mixing all the ingredients and the other is by frying all the ingredients in oil. I will go through the first method in this process where frying is not required.

To prepare tasty and healthy Grilled Paneer Sandwich, first we need to prepare the stuffing. Take the Paneer and crumble it with your palm. Crumble it into small chunks. Take it into a large bowl and add all the spice powder such as Turmeric Powder, Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Garam Masala, Aamchur Powder and Salt. Aamchur Powder is used to give tangy taste to the sandwich. You can replace it with Lemon Juice also. Mix all the spices evenly with paneer. Next add Finely Chopped Onion, Chopped Tomatoes and Curd. Mix all the ingredients properly. Keep it aside.

Now take the bread slices and spread Butter over it. After spreading Butter, spread Green Chutney all over the bread and sprinkle small amount of Chaat Masala over the chutney. Take required amount of stuffing and place it over the bread. Spread it evenly. Place another bread slice over the stuffing and press it slightly. Do the same for all the bread slices. Place the stuffed sandwich in sandwich maker and grill it till it is crispy and golden in colour. Grilled Paneer Sandwich is ready to serve. Serve it with Tomato Ketchup, Chutney or any other dip or spreads.

Here, we have used Green Chutney to add extra spiciness and also used as a spread over the bread slices. You can replace the green chutney with either of Tomato Ketchup or Mayonnaise or Schezwan Sauce or Pizza Sauce. But different spread will add different taste to the sandwich. I keep on trying to prepare this recipe with different spreads. You can prepare Grilled Paneer Sandwich by toasting it in Sandwich Maker or in Tawa. To make it easier and faster, I generally prefer sandwich maker. But if you do not have it, you can toast it in tawa.

Equipments:

  • Sandwich Maker or Tawa

Ingredients:

For Stuffing:

  • 200 grams Crumbled Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
  • 1 medium Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 medium Chopped Tomato
  • 2 tablespoon Curd (Dahi/Yoghurt)
  • 1/8 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania Powder)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Powder (Jeera Powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Aamchur Powder (Dry Mango Powder)
  • Salt as required

For Paneer Sandwich:

  • 12 slices Bread White Bread or Brown Bread or Whole Wheat Bread or Multigrain Bread
  • Green Chutney as required
  • Chaat Masala as required
  • Butter as required

Instructions:

  • Take the Paneer in a large bowl. Crumble it with the help of your hand. Do not crumble it finely. There should be some small chunks present in it.
  • Add the spice powder such as Turmeric Powder, Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Garam Masala, Aamchur Powder and Salt. Mix all the ingredients properly.
  • Next add Finely Chopped Onion, Chopped Tomato and Curd to the Paneer stuffing and mix it well. Keep it aside.
  • Now take the Bread Slices and spread required amount of Butter over it.
  • Next take butter spread slices and spread Green Chutney over it. Sprinkle small amount of Chaat Masala over all the slices.
  • Take a Bread Slice and place required amount of Paneer Stuffing over it. Spread it uniformly all over the bread slice.
  • Take another Bread Slice and place it over the stuffed bread slice. Press it slightly and keep it aside.
  • In the same manner stuff the remaining bread slices. Keep them aside in a plate.
  • Now place the sandwich in Sandwich Maker. Grill the sandwich till it is crispy and golden brown in colour. Similarly grill all sandwiches.

  • Grilled Paneer Sandwich is ready to serve. Serve it with Tomato Ketchup or Green Chutney or any other dip and sauces.

Notes:

  1. Here I have used White Bread. You can use any type of bread to prepare the sandwich. Use any one of White Bread or Brown Bread or Whole Wheat Bread or Multigrain Bread. Also use large shape bread rather than small one.
  2. To prepare the Sandwich I have used Chopped Onion and Chopped Tomato. You can replace it with thinly sliced onion and tomato.
  3. To give the sandwich a sweet taste, you can use Tomato Sauce as a spread in the bread slices. Apart from it you can also use either Pizza Sauce or Schezwan Sauce or Mayonnaise.
  4. You can also prepare Paneer Sandwich using various vegetables such as Capsicum, Sweet Corn, Carrot, Cucumber, etc. Please visit Vegetable Paneer Sandwich to make this sandwich.
  5. If you do not have Sandwich Maker, you can use tawa to prepare Paneer Sandwich.
