Curd is the most nutritious side dish in our meal. It has various benefits and uses for our good health. It is a great probiotic which contains bacteria that is very useful for our health. It helps in digestion, effective in boosting immunity, keeping healthy skin, good for bones, reduces high blood pressure, etc. Having Curd in the form of Raita is also very beneficial for our health.
This recipe is similar to Tomato Onion Raita, where the main ingredients are Tomato and Onion. Here in this recipe we use only Onion to prepare the Onion or Pyaaz Raita. Onion Raita is useful by two ways in the summers. First is the use of Curd and the other is the Onion. Both have cooling effects and is widely used during summer to beat heat. Pyaaz Raita can be prepared mild spicy or without spiciness. If you like some spiciness, add more Red Chilli to the mixture or you can add Chopped Green Chilli.
Some people hate the smell of raw onion and hence don’t prefer to have Onion Raita. We have another option for this. Simply fry the raw onion in small amount of oil till it changes its colour to light brown. Then add it to the curd and mix. The raw smell will automatically vanish. The taste will also be flavourful.
If you are taking the whole spices of Cumin Seeds and Black Pepper Seeds, then we need to first roast these ingredients and then prepare a smooth fine powder of it in mixer grinder jar.
