Roasted Tomato Chutney

I have already posted Tomato Chutney, Tomato Onion Garlic Chutney and Sweet Tomato Chutney. Today we will be preparing Tomato Chutney by roasting the whole tomato. Tomato can be roasted in a pan or directly in the flame. It takes less time compared to other tomato chutney. It can be served with Bread Pakodas, Samosa, Fried Rice, Burgers, Chaat, Chilla or Tikki. It can be also had with your regular food. It is prepared with tomatoes, onion and other ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium Whole Tomato
  • 1 medium Chopped Onion
  • 2 piece Chopped Green Chillies
  • 4-5 pieces Chopped Garlic
  • 2 teaspoon Mustard Oil
  • Salt to Taste

Instructions:

  • Heat tawa or pan. Place the tomatoes and roast it.
  • Keep on turning it so that it doesn’t burn. Roast it till it gets completely cooked.
  • Take it out from the tawa and allow it to cool down.
  • Peel out the outer layer of the tomatoes. Mash it with your hand or a big spoon.
  • Add mustard oil, chopped onion, salt, chopped garlic and chopped chillies. Mix it properly.
  • Roasted Tomato Chutney is ready to be served.

Notes:

1. You can add other ingredients if you want, such as mustard seeds and coriander leaves.
2. Salt, Onion and chilli can be varied as per one’s taste.
