Instructions
To prepare Potato Stuffing:
Heat Oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the Mashed Boiled Potato.
Add Dabeli Masala Powder and Salt. Mix them properly.
Add Date-Tamarind Chutney and mix so that the chutney is evenly spread throughout the potato mixture.
Cook for 3-4 minutes. Keep mixing in between so that it doesn’t stick to the bottom.
Turn off the flame and allow the mixture to cool down.
When it cools down, add the spiced Peanuts and Pomegranate Seeds and mix them.
Take it out in a plate and keep it aside.
To prepare Dabeli Recipe:
Take the pav and slice it from middle into two parts.
Apply Chilli Garlic Chutney on both sides.
Then apply Date-Tamarind Chutney on both sides above the Chilli Garlic Chutney.
Put some Potato stuffing over one of the slice of pav.
Spread small amount of Chopped Onion and Nylon Sev over it. Also sprinkle Grated Coconut over it.
If you want, you can top the potato stuffing with more peanuts and pomegranate seeds.
Close the stuffing with the other slice and press it gently.
Now heat tawa or pan. Add butter into it.
Toast the pav in butter from both sides until it becomes crispy. Coat the sides of Dabeli with Nylon Sev.
Kachchi Dabeli is ready to be served. Serve it hot with Tea or Coffee.
Notes
The taste of Kuchhi Dabeli depends on the Dabeli Masala. The taste of Dabeli is sweet. If you want to reduce the sweetness, add less sugar to it.
If you want, you can skip the addition of Grated Coconut. It’s optional.
You can replace the Red Chilli Garlic Chutney with Coriander Chutney or Mint Chutney or Coriander Mint Chutney.
Spiced Peanuts can be replaced with Plain Peanuts if you want Dabeli to be less spicy.
