Wash the Potato and peel out the outer layer with the help of a peeler.
Now slice the Potato into thin slices of width 2-3 mm of round shape. If necessary you can wash the sliced potatoes once again.
In a large bowl take the Gram Flour, Carom Seeds, Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Asafoetida, Garam Masala and Salt.
Mix all the ingredients properly so that all the spices are uniformly distributed with the Besan (Gram Flour).
Now add Water little by little and mix the ingredients to prepare the batter. Add the quantity of Water such that the consistency of the batter can hold the potato slices.
Check the batter for the spices and add more if required. Keep it aside for few minutes so that the Besan soaks the water.
Heat Oil on a pan or kadai over medium heat.
Take a slice of potato and dip it into the batter. Coat the slice with the Besan and then gently drop it into the heated oil.
In the same manner add more 4-5 slices. Fry till they are crisp and golden in colour.
Fry the slices by turning it in regular intervals. Take them out from the oil and place over kitchen towels to absorb the excess oil.
Fry the remaining slices in the same manner in batches. Aloo Pakora is ready to serve.
Serve Aloo Pakora by seasoning with Chaat Masala along with Green Chutney or Ketchup.
