Vegetable Cheese Sandwich

Veg Cheese Sandwich is very easy and quick to make. Vegetable stuffing is placed in between the bread slice. It is topped with cheese slice and seasoning is sprinkled over it. It is then grilled on tawa or sandwich maker by applying butter on the outer surface of the bread till it become crispy and golden brown.

Ingredients

  • 10 slice Bread
  • 3 tablespoon Butter
  • 10 slices Cheese Slice
  • 2 tablespoon Grated Carrot
  • 2 tablespoon Finely Chopped Capsicum
  • 2 tablespoon Sweet Corn
  • 3 tablespoon Spinach Leaves (Optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 teaspoon Red Chilli Flakes
  • 2 teaspoon Oregano
  • Salt to Taste

Instructions

Preparing Vegetable Cheese Sandwich in Sandwich Maker/Griller

  • Wash the vegetables such as Carrot, Capsicum and Tomatoes. Chop them finely. Mix it with Sweet Corn and keep it aside. You can also mix the Red Chilli Flakes and Oregano into it.
  • Take two bread slices and apply butter on single side of each bread.
  • Sprinkle Black Pepper and Salt uniformly all over it. We must keep in mind as to how much quantity we have to add.
  • Now sprinkle Red Chilli Flakes and Oregano over the bread slice uniformly.
  • Take one slice of Cheese and place over the slice of bread.
  • Again sprinkle Red Chilli Flakes and Oregano over it.
  • Next take the Chopped Vegetables and place it uniformly all over the bread. The quantity of vegetables should be appropriate so that it doesn’t spill out of the bread.
  • Place the second slice of cheese above the vegetables. Sprinkle some more Chilli Flakes and Oregano over the Cheese slice.
  • Close the stuffing with the other bread slice. Press it firmly and keep it aside.
  • Repeat the above steps 2 to 10 for the remaining bread slice.
  • Now place the bread in Sandwich Maker and grill it. Vegetable Cheese Sandwich is ready. If you want you can apply butter and then grill it.
  • Serve it hot with Chutney or Ketchup along with hot tea or coffee. If you do not have Sandwich Maker or Griller, you can prepare the sandwich in a pan or tawa. Follow the below steps to prepare the sandwich in tawa or pan:

Preparing Vegetable Cheese Sandwich in a Tawa

  • Heat pan or tawa over medium flame. Place 1 teaspoon butter and allow it to melt.
  • Place the prepared sandwich over the butter so that butter spread to all parts of the bread.
  • Cook till it become golden brown and crispy.
  • Turn the other side and again cook till it become brown and crispy. Apply butter over the bread.
  • When both the sides become golden brown and crispy, take it out of the pan and place it on the plate.
  • Repeat the above steps for the remaining sandwich.
  • Tasty and delicious Vegetable Cheese Sandwich is ready. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or Green Chutney.
  • The task of grilling sandwich becomes easier if you are using sandwich maker since it has an automatic timer. Simply apply butter on both the sides and place it over the sandwich maker and grill it.

Notes

  1. When you buy Corn from the market, wash it properly in running water so that the chemicals and smell in it goes off.
  2. Any variant of the Capsicum can be used such as Green Capsicum, Red Capsicum and Yellow Capsicum.
  3. Fresh or Dried Herbs is used to prepare the sandwich. I have used Oregano. It can be replaced with other herbs such as basil, rosemary or Coriander Leaves. Instead of using the ingredients separately, we can use Pasta or Pizza seasoning.
  4. Cheese can be used as per your likeness. Here I have used 2 slices with two slices of bread. For more yummy and cheesy taste you can add extra cheese.
  5. The quantity of seasoning or Chilli Flakes can be varied as per one fondness to it. Oregano and Chilli Flakes can be increased for tasty and spicy Vegetable Cheese Sandwich.
