Ingredients

For Maida dough (All-purpose Flour):

  • 2 cup Maida (All-purpose Flour) (or 250 gm)
  • 5 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Cold Water (For kneading the flour)

Veg Pizza McPuff stuffing:

  • 1/2 cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • 4-5 pieces Finely Chopped Garlic
  • 1/2 inch Finely Chopped Ginger
  • 1 medium Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 cup Finely Chopped Carrot
  • 1/2 cup Finely Chopped Capsicum
  • 1/2 cup Finely Chopped French Beans
  • 1/4 cup Peas
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Corn
  • 1/2 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
  • 3 tablespoon Pasta & Pizza Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (As per taste)
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1/8 cup Water (For kneading)
  • Vegetable Oil (for frying)
  • Water (To seal the Pizza Packets)

Instructions

To prepare Maida dough:

  • Take a large bowl. Add Maida, Baking Powder, Salt and Oil.
  • Mix all the ingredients properly so that the oil is uniformly mixed.
  • Take a heap of mixed flour in your hand and press it with your fist to see that the maida binds itself to form a ball. If it doesn’t form, add little more oil to it.
  • Now add cold water to the mixture and knead it to make soft dough mixture.
  • Cover the dough with wet cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

To Prepare Veg Pizza McPuff stuffing:

  • Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a kadai over medium heat.
  • Add Finely Chopped Garlic and Ginger and fry for few seconds till the raw smell goes off.
  • Now add Finely Chopped Onion and cook till they are slightly brown and translucent.
  • Once the Onions are cooked add the Chopped vegetables such as Carrot, Capsicum, French Beans, Peas and Sweet Corns. Mix all the ingredients.
  • Add 1/8 cup water and mix it. Cook for few minutes. Do not overcook. Keep the stuffing little crunchy.
  • Next add Pasta and Pizza Sauce and mix it properly with the vegetables. Also add vinegar and mix it.
  • Add Salt, Oregano and Chilli Flakes and mix it. Cook for a minute. You can use Pizza or Pasta seasoning in place of Oregano and Chilli Flakes which are easily available in the market.
  • Add Tomato Ketchup to the stuffing and mix it properly. Cook for a minute.
  • Switch off the flame and allow the vegetable stuffing to cool down completely.
  • When the stuffing completely cools down add Mozzarella Cheese and mix it uniformly. Keep it aside.

To Prepare Pizza McPuff packets:

  • Take a large chunk of dough in a rolling board and roll it to make a large sheet. The sheet should be thick or as per your requirement.
  • Cut the sides of the sheet to make a rectangular shape sheet of size 9x4.5 inches.
  • Now cut the sheet into four equal rectangle shaped sheet of size 4.5x2.25 inches. With these four sheets we will make two Pizza packets.
  • Apply water with the fingertip or with a brush at the edges of all the four sheets.
  • Next take small amount of stuffing and place it on any two sheets. Leave some space at the edges of the sheet to seal the stuffing.
  • Take the remaining two sheets and place it over the stuffing. Press the edges of the sheets to seal the stuffing.
  • Also to give a good design, press the edges with a fork spoon. Pizza McPuff packets are ready.
  • Similarly prepare the packets for the remaining dough. Cut the sides of the packets to get a proper shape of the packets. Keep the Pizza packets in freeze for 30 minutes before frying in oil.

To Prepare Veg Pizza McPuff:

  • Heat Oil in a kadai over medium flame to fry the Pizza McPuff packets.
  • Place the packets in oil and fry them till they are golden brown in colour and crisp.
  • Take out the pizza packets from the oil and place it over tissue paper to absorb excess oil.
  • Veg Pizza McPuff or Pizza McPuff is ready to be served.
  • Serve it hot and crisp with Tomato Ketchup or with your favourite chutney.

Notes

  1. Here we have fried the pizza packets in oil. If you do not like oil, you can bake it in pre heated microwave oven.
  2. Add Mozzarella Cheese only after the vegetable stuffing completely cools down or else the cheese will melt down before and it will change the taste of the stuffing.
  3. Remember to close the edges of the sheets properly so that the vegetable stuffing does not come out while frying. To seal the pizza packets, you can use either water or maida flour paste.
  4. The vegetables used for stuffing can be varied as per your choice. Vegetables should not be overcooked and should be kept crunchy.
  5. If you do not have Oregano and Chilli Flakes, you can skip it. It will taste awesome with them also. You can purchase Pasta or Pizza Seasoning from the market also.
  6. You can use any one of Pizza & Pasta Sauce or Tomato Sauce. You can also use finely chopped tomatoes in place of sauce.
  7. After the stuffing is sealed inside the maida sheets, you can keep in the freeze and use it later on. Just take them out of the freeze and fry it and serve it hot.
  8. Serve the Pizza Pockets hot to get a delicious taste.
