Sooji Bread Toast/Rava Bread Toast/Sooji Toast/Rava Toast

Sooji Bread Toast or Rava Bread Toast is prepared by applying stuffing of veggies over bread slices and then toasting it with butter or ghee in a tawa. The veggies added to stuffing can be varied as per choice.

Ingredients

  • 10-12 slices Bread Slices
  • 1 cup Sooji (Semolina) (200 gm)
  • 1 medium Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 medium Finely Chopped Tomato
  • 1/4 cup Finely Chopped Capsicum
  • 1/2 cup Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 cup Curd (Yoghurt)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • Butter or Ghee for toasting
  • Water

Instructions

  • Take a large bowl. Add Sooji, Curd, Finely Chopped Onion, Finely Chopped Tomato, Chopped Capsicum, Chopped Coriander Leaves, Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder and Salt.
  • Mix all the ingredients properly. Add water to the mixture and again mix it.
  • As you know that Sooji absorbs water, so add water as per requirement. The mixture should not be thin.
  • Keep the mixture aside for 10 minutes so that Sooji swells by absorbing the water.
  • After 10 minutes we will see that the quantity of the mixture increases. Now we will use it to make Sooji Bread Toast.
  • Take the Bread slices and apply appropriate amount of the mixture over it. It should be applied uniformly.
  • In the same manner apply the mixture in all the bread slices. Keep it aside.
  • Now heat tawa over medium flame. Add Butter or Ghee into it.
  • Take one bread slice and lay it over the butter. Cook the bread slice for some time by pressing it with a spatula.
  • Apply butter on the other side of the bread. Turn the side of the bread and again roast it.

  • Roast the bread slice till it changes its colour to light golden brown and it becomes crisp. To make it crispier, toast the bread under low heat.
  • Toast all the remaining bread slices. Crispy and tempting Sooji Bread Toast is ready to be served. Serve it with your favourite ketchup or sauce.

Notes

  1. You can add vegetables as per your choice. You can add vegetables such as carrot, capsicum, corns, cabbage etc. if you want.
  2. Since Sooji absorbs water, it should be added as per requirement. Also you must be careful that the mixture does not become too thin.
  3. You can use White Bread or Brown Bread whichever suits you. The taste will remain the same.
  4. For better taste, use butter or ghee in place of oil.
