Notes

  1. Do not leave the Cumin Seeds unattended while roasting. Keep stirring it continuously so that it does not burn and is roasted evenly.
  2. Roast the Cumin Seeds under low flame. Don’t let the seeds to burn or else it will ruin the taste of the cumin powder.
  3. Cumin Powder can be prepared without roasting also. Simply blend the cumin seeds in a mixer grinder to smooth powder. But the real taste of the masala powder comes when it is prepared by roasting the seeds.
  4. Grind the roasted cumin seeds after it gets cooled completely.
  5. Homemade Cumin Powder can be used for months if it is stored in an air tight container in cool and dry place.
  6. Never touch the masala powder with wet hand or spoon or else it will not last longer and will become bad very easily.
