Paneer Masala Curry is a North Indian recipe prepared using Paneer, Tomatoes, Onions and variety of spices. It is a delicious recipe prepared at home and also served in roadside dhabas. I frequently prepare this recipe and keep on changing the way of preparing it for enhanced taste. Today I will be sharing the simplest way of preparing Paneer Masala Curry in Punjabi style. Paneer Masala can be prepared either in dry form or in curry form. The process is same for both the types of recipe. To prepare Paneer Masala Curry, we need to add more water so that the thickness of the curry decreases.
Paneer Masala Curry is easy to make recipe. We will be preparing Paneer Masala Curry in Punjabi style. It is prepared from Tomato Onion gravy along with few spices and fried paneer. Tomato Onion gravy is prepared by frying Tomato and Onion along with Chilli, Garlic, Ginger and Cumin Seeds. After frying it is left to cool down and then it is grinded to make paste. This paste is used to make Paneer Masala Curry by adding few spices such as Turmeric Powder, Chilli Powder, Garam Masala, etc. Finally fried Paneer is added and then served by garnishing with Coriander Leaves.
I have already shared other Paneer recipes where I have used Cashew Paste, Butter and Fresh Cream to make it creamy and rich. Today I am sharing the recipe of Paneer Masala Curry without using these ingredients. Even without these ingredients, the recipe taste awesome and delicious. Please give it a try and let us know your feedback. However if you wish you can add these ingredients for enhanced taste.
Also you can replace the cream with curd also. Some people love to add curd to the curry to make rich gravy. It’s a good option but we must remember that the curd used must not be too sour or else it will ruin the taste. We must also keep in mind that the tomatoes used to prepare Tomato Onion paste must be ripe and not sour, since sourness can change the taste of the gravy.
Paneer that is used to prepare the recipe can be added to the gravy by shallow frying it or it can be added raw. The taste of the curry remains the same in both the case. Here I have shallow fried the paneer before adding to the gravy. Also I have prepared the recipe in dry form. You can add extra water to prepare in curry form. Paneer Masala Curry can be served hot with Roti, Parantha, Naan or any type of Rice recipes.
